This harbour city on the west coast of Sweden is known for its relaxed atmosphere and a sensational choice of fresh fish and seafood. The city’s landmark (and Mecca for fish connoisseurs and anyone who enjoys a good fish) is the famous Feskekôrka fish church. Built in 1874, it serves as a restaurant as well as Gothenburg’s indoor market for the treasures of the ocean. Gothenburg, or as the Swedes say “Göteborg“, is home to Sweden’s largest harbour, where you can find historical ships, the Maritime Museum and Aquarium, and the Lilla Bommen skyscraper – a landmark of Gothenburg with a panoramic view of the city.
