Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Ensure the company is in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Assessing compliance health and gaps within the organisation.
  • Providing compliance health status to Senior Management and the Board. 
  • Identifying new emerging compliance risks for the organisation.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Engage and coordinate with various business functions to understand/identify compliance requirement to various regulations and laws.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance register to actively monitor changes to external legal regulations as well as matters of non compliance, including new emerging compliance risk.
  • Identifying, preventing, detecting and assessing non compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and establish annual compliance plans, programs, activities and initiatives to ensure compliance program through out the organisation are effective and efficient.
  • Develop compliance monitoring program to monitor and assess compliance with reliability.
  • Perform compliance assessment to ensure that procedures and practices are in line with external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly compliance report , dashboard and analysis to provide Senior Management the insight view of compliance health within the organisations.
  • Summarise incidents of non-compliances and deficiencies for the management and recommend corrective measures to address incidents of non-compliance, including disciplinary actions.
  • Provide insights and observations regarding the compliance culture that exists in the organisation which may give rise to compliance concerns.
  • Develop and conduct seminars, trainings, workshops and inductions programs to enhance compliance awareness throughout the organisation.

  • To assess business future ventures to identify possible compliance risks and Business Continuity Strategies and Plans.

Unique Requirement

  • Have strong experience of having worked within Compliance / Governance / Risk / Control
  • Has knowledge of legal and regulatory requirement (including emerging) faced by the business.
  • Has experience in developing compliance strategy, compliance framework and assessment plans.
  • Has experience in understanding reviewing procedures and practices to ensure adherence to external regulatory requirements.

 

External

  • Degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience related to Compliance/Internal Audit/ Regulatory/Governance/Risk/ Management Consulting

Education

  • Bachelor Degree /Professional Degree in Finance/ Accountancy/ Banking, Law, Business Studies/ Administration/ Management or equivalent
