Habitas champions wellness, rich communal programs and unique experiences to get guests back in touch with nature. As one of the least populated places in the world, and a rising star on the southern African safari scene, Namibia was a natural choice for the hospitality group. Indeed there’s been a flurry of new properties, like Natural Selection’s Kwessi Dune Lodge and Sonop by Zannier Hotels, plus renovated lodges like andBeyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge and Wilderness Safaris’ Little Kulala.
Located just 45 minutes from Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport, Habitas Namibia is billed as a conservation project set on over 50,000 hectares of land that was formerly used as a hunting estate. Now, the property is a wildlife reserve and visitors can track animals on foot with local San tribesmen or on daily safari drives. Other activities include mountain biking, outings with the anti-poaching unit and stargazing. But Habitas Namibia aims to deliver more than the classic safari lodge, hence they’ve come up with an array of live music sessions, meditation sessions and programming, all starting with the welcome ceremony, a Habitas signature anchored in local cultural practices (here it involves burning Myrrh resin).
