Description, duties, responsibilities
+ Process and distribute incoming bulk mail volume from air carrier
+ Ensure the protection and safeguard of personnel US Mail and property
+ Safely and efficiently unload air containers off tractor-trailers
+ Pull large air containers across ball-decking/slave-pallets to the processing area.
+ Inspect air containers for damage and accuracy
+ Report damage and routing tags to the supervisor
+ Ensure that each mail unit is reviewed for proper mail type and zip code destination prior to being placed in the appropriate mail transport equipment (MTE) by verifying the routing tags on the mail properly match the MTE
+ Ensure that all mail units are handled with care so as not to damage any parcels
+ Ensure MTE leaving the sorting area are directed to their intended staging area
+ Ensure sorting areas are stocked and replenished with empty MTE once full containers have been removed
+ Assists drivers in loading full MTE from the staging areas onto tractor-trailers.
+ Ensures all mail is cleared from both the floor and air containers at the end of the operation
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Must be 18 years of age or older
+ Possess a valid US Driver’s License
+ Minimum 5-year US Residency Required
+ Must pass pre-employment drug screen
+ Must meet Selective Service requirements (seesss.gov)
+ Ability to proficiently read write and speak English
+ Ability to lift and move up to 70lbs
+ Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
+ Must pass background check and obtain US Custom seal
+ Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

While performing the duties of this job the employee may regularly work in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts high voltages and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures. The employee is also frequently exposed to very loud noise levels fumes or airborne particles and hazardous substances materials or waste. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places.
All mail processing is conducted within the secure confines of a 30000-sq.ft. warehouse. While work is primarily performed indoors the employee is subject to all weather conditions and should therefore dress appropriately. Operational times are subject to variation in the event of fluctuating volume or transportation delays. The employee will frequently navigate through changing floor plans based on daily equipment stockpiles and inventory. The employee may regularly traverse over roller-deck and slave-pallet surfaces. The employee will likely perform job functions inside ULDs (air containers). Determined by assignment the employee may regularly or occasionally perform job functions inside docked semi-trailers and box truck beds. The employee must be able to maintain awareness of surroundings always.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with arms climb or balance; and talk or hear.
Employee may also engage in debris removal which involves lifting bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.
